Loss, Macular Degeneration, Arthritis in Knee

I am a 56-year old housewife suffering from Macular Degeneration in
the left eye since 1993. Also suffering the beginnings of osteo-arthritis
on the left knee and water-retention that caused bloating. Between 1994
and early March 1998, many doctors in India and Bangkok were consulted
which meant a series of check-ups including retina examinations that
involved special injections and x-rays. Everywhere I was told this was
macular degeneration and that there was no treatment for it.
In Bangkok, a Doctor recommended Tentral 400 - one tablet a day. He
said it would stop further degeneration and may help regenerate some
cells.
For the arthritis he recommended some simple exercises for strengthening
the knee and he asked me to lose weight. I also underwent physiotherapy.
Further degeneration was controlled but the arthritis pain persisted.
I could not lose any weight despite undertaking 2-hour walks daily from
1994-98.
When a friend recommended Acupoint Injection Therapy ( AIT ) for my
husband's back problem, he suggested that I also should take her treatment.
I started getting AIT treatment on 20th March through 10 June every
day except for 4-5 days. Her treatment consists of giving herbal injections
and sometimes vitamin injections at the points in the body that would
be most direct access to the vital areas that need them.
a. There was a marked improvement within a week of this treatment for
water retention, so I lost more than 10 kilos weight.
b. My arthritis pain disappeared altogether.
c. Tentral 400 was stopped at the beginning of the treatment. My eye
tearing stopped within a week. Both eyes now feel very comfortable.
I feel I have benefited a lot and hopefully the cells have been strengthened
enough to start regenerating themselves.
I feel this line of treatment - AIT( traditional Chinese herbal injections)
- brings a lot of hope for patients with the so-called chronic or degenerative
diseases, where one is told there is no treatment or cure and the only
medicine offered is pain-killers and antibiotic tablets. One can only
wish that information on AIT subject was more generally available.
Second
treatment - March next year
I came to the well-trained doctor again on 24 December and resumed treatment
with AIT from 26 December until 16 March - almost 3 months again.
I must put it on record that my arthritic problems never came back after
last year's treatment. The water-retention problem never returned as
long as I was in Bhutan - my country. 3 days after AIT, I noticed I
was feeling bloated on my hands and feet. This problem was sorted out
within a week of the treatments.
This time Dr. concentrated on treating the macular degeneration problem
- giving injections on many points on my face, back of the neck, temples,
forehead and eyelids. I was also given acupuncture needles on each of
my eyes and left there for 25-30 minutes each day. I certainly have
a feeling of health and well-being after the treatments.
However, I think will need many more months of treatment for the cells
to be stimulated enough for re-generation. If only I had known of AIT
when my problem first started in late 1993 - but then, as they say,
if wishes were horses, beggars would ride!
