Female, 60 years old; operation , chemotherapy & radiation 3 years ago, and chemotherapy again one year ago.

The x-ray shows pleural effusion.

The patient refuses an operation to withdraw the fluid. She also refuses to undergo renewed chemotherapy and requests to try AIT for two months. The X-ray shows much improvment.

The third month the X-ray shows the result is still under the control even the patient got less often treatment of Acupoint injection therapy.

Acupoint Injection Therapy ( AIT ): According to the patient's individual situation, specific Chinese herbs & vitamins are injected by hypodermic syringe into case-specific acupuncture points.

How long and how often for this case?
First month: The patient came with difficulty breathing, difficulty sleeping, getting tired easily, nausea, vomiting, no appetite, chest pain and back pain. The patient received AIT twice daily. After two weeks of AIT, the Patient felt much better and decided to continue AIT for two months.
Second month: The patient felt greatly relieved. She was breathing much easily, eating much more, sleeping better and feeling more energefic. She experienced no pain and regained 3 kilogremes in weight. After that, AIT treatment was reduced to once daily. One month later, X-ray shows that her condition is almost back to normal.
Third month: The patient felt that everything was back to normal after AIT for two months, so the treatment was reduced to every other day.
