Acupoint Injection Therapy for Cancer

BACKGROUND: Surgical procedure, chemotherapy and radiation are the mainstream conventional treatments for cancer. These treatments try to remove tumors or kill cancer cells, but in the process they also damage, disturb or destroy normal systems and normal cells. Moreover, negative side effects often occur which may force the doctor and patient to quit conventional treatment -- even the best-trained conventional oncologists cannot avoid this. When this happens, a patient suffers so much, feeling hopeless and losing confidence to fight cancer. This condition will actually accelerate cancer to develop to the end stage. The patient feels he or she has no choice and can only await death. Certain complementary and alternative therapies seek to avoid these devastating side effects and represent another method of fighting cancer. One of these alternatives focuses on strengthening the capacity for self-healing by the cancer patient himself. These therapies nourish the body's reparative processes, increasing its ability to fight cancer. They detoxify the body and enhance its immune system, thus improving the patient's quality of life and instilling in him or her more confidence to fight the cancer. Among complementary and alternative therapies for cancer, there has been a recent significant focus on the benefits of integrating Traditional Chinese Medicine (TCM) -- acupuncture and herbs -- with conventional Western treatments: surgery, chemotherapy and radiation therapy.

A truly comprehensive approach to cancer care is integrative. This means using combinations of conventional, complementary, and alternative therapies to deal with different cases or situations. TCM individualizes the therapeutic approach to each cancer patient. Even when two patients have exactly the same kind of cancer at the same stage of development, a TCM diagnosis may see them as being quite different. For example, one patient's lung cancer may be characterized primarily by "lung qi stagnation", while another's might manifest "lung and kidney yin and yang deficiency". Each diagnosis represents a different physical and psychological state. Each requires using different acupuncture points, a different combination of herbs, different diets and qi gong exercises. And, of course, each should have a significantly different prognosis. Acupuncture has been used in cancer care to decrease pain, nausea, vomiting, anxiety and other discomforts but, at the same time, acupuncture can be used to increase appetite, enhance circulation, strengthen the immune system to fight cancer, improve the balance of body-organ functions and improve mood, energy and levels of well-being. The Chinese herbs used in cancer treatment have a number of significant direct modes of action, such as anti-inflammation, immune-system stimulation, anti-tumor activity, enhancement of blood circulation and white blood cell formation, inhibition of platelet aggregation and clotting, as well as modulating cellular metabolic processes.
Acupoint Injection Therapy (AIT) is a combination therapy: one that selects certain vitamins and Chinese herbs and injects them directly into specific acupuncture points according to the individual patient's conditions. AIT has indeed proven itself, in case after case, to be a powerful and effective means for improving the cancer patient's condition. We cannot cure all cancer, of course, but AIT offers another option (and real hope) to those who wish to fight cancer but cannot tolerate the harsh side effects of conventional cancer treatments.

Traditional Chinese medical treatment for cancer provides:
1.DETOXICATION: Strengthens the liver and kidney functions by stimulating certain acupuncture points, combined with specific detoxifying herbs to clean toxins.
2. STRENGTHENS THE IMMUNE SYSTEM: Promotes the production of antibodies, white blood cell and lymph cell growth. This is the key to fighting cancer.
3. BALANCES THE BODY AS AN INTEGRATED SYSTEM: Strengthens what is right in the body and enhances the process of regeneration and repair in damaged tissue.

ABSTRACT:
TITLE:
The effectiveness of Acupoint Injection Therapy by using vitamins and Chinese herbs in cancer treatment.
INTRODUCTION:
Nearly all cancer patients will have a dramatic initial response to surgery, chemotherapy and/or radiotherapy. However, approximately 30-60% of these patients will develop recurrent cancer for which conventional chemotherapy is ineffective. Moreover, some patients are too old, too weak, or their cancer is too far advanced, which limits treatment options . AIT represents an effective treatment for patients who are unsuited to conventional treatments, or for relapsed/recurrent patients. Research has shown that AIT -- combining Acupuncture, Chinese herbs and vitamins -- greatly benefits cancer patients in a number of ways, such as;
>Strengthening their immune systems
>Limiting the spread of cancer
>Reducing the patient's suffering
>Improving their quality of life
>Prolonging the patients' lives.

This is a Pilot Study of four cancer patients who had refused or could not tolerate conventional treatment and reqested to try Acupoint Injection Therapy.

OBJECTIVE:
This protocol will study the safety, feasibility and efficacy of AIT on four cancer patients who could not endure conventional treatment.

Method: four patients with cancer were treated with Acupoint Injection Therapy for three weeks to three months.
X-rays , Digital mammography, or photo were taken before and after treatment.

RESULT:
At the end of the treatment period, X-rays proved that two patients were now completely free from cancer (see Cancer 1, Cancer 2,) another patients were significantly improved ( see Cancer 3, Cancer 4) . In addition, the patients' general health was much improved. No negative side effects were observed.

CONCLUSIONS:
The results of this Pilot Study indicate that Acupoint Injection Therapy is a safe and effective therapy for patients with cancer. Thus AIT offers itself as a viable option for cancer patients who refuse conventional therapy, and especially for those patients who have had no response to cancer or who suffer the negative side effects from chemotherapy or radiation treatment. However, further research is necessary to prove the effectiveness of this treatment on a larger scale. We suggest that Acupoint Injection Therapy deserves further evaluations in larger and longer clinical trials, and we are prepared to conduct further research to compare AIT with conventional therapy.

COMMENTS:
Cancer is a difficult disease to deal with. Cancer presents not only a single problem, and normally it is very complicated. Up to now, almost all treatments are trying to kill cancer cells by surgical procedure, chemotherapy and radiation. However, most of time so many complications come together that, as doctors, we don't know what to do. We can only tell the patient we can't do anything more for you. Patients can only wait for suffering and dying.
A patient, 71 years old, was suffering from cancer of the lung for two years. That patient received chemotherapy six times and radiation 30 times. It goes without saying what difficulties the patient had to experience in those two years. Finally, cancer metastasized to his brain, liver, lower spine and filled both lungs. The patient was in extremely bad condition, -- his breathing was very difficult, he depended on oxygen constantly, could not eat, had an enlarged heart in very poor condition, suffered severe pain, he could not sleep well and, in addition, had pleural effusion. Some doctors suggested applying the r-knife to treat his brain metastasis immediately. Other doctors suggested giving further chemotherapy.
What to do now? The family invited me to the hospital to see what I could do for him. They asked me, "Can you cure my father? How long? " The point here was not whether I could cure his cancer or not. The point now was, how could I manage such a complicated situation in order to improve the patient's condition.

In such a case the basic point is whether or not we can improve the patient's breathing by helping both of his lungs to work to the maximum. We have to understand, at this point we must focus on improving the quality of life, reducing the patient's suffering and prolonging the patient's life as follows:
1. Supporting therapy with Acupoint injection using suitable Chinese herbs and vitamins instead of any aggressive treatment. Hoping to bring back the possibility for future surgery, chemo or radiation. We must improve the appetite, improve sleeping, control pain, increase energy, improve the blood readings and strengthen the immune system. This supporting therapy gives the patient more chance of tolerating chemotherapy again. The patient's life is prolonged and the quality of life is improved.
2. A very big tumor does not mean it is hopeless forever. We can use acupoint injection with Chinese herbs and vitamins around the tumor to shrink the mass, thereby winning the opportunity to operate on it successfully. At the same time we try to improve the patient's general condition and strengthen the immune system to prevent or reduce further metastasis.
3. Long distance metastases ( other place cancer metastases ) does not mean that there is no more chance, does not mean that is final stage forever: We can use acupoint injection with certain Chinese herbs & vitamins utilizing specific acupuncture points to improve the general condition, improve the entire body's immune system, and allow the body to fight the cancer naturally. Thereby, cancer has no place to stay. Finally, we may have chance to win the battle.
4. If Cancer does not respond to conventional therapy or the patient is too weak to accept chemo or radiation, that does not mean it is hopeless: Two successful cases using Acupoint Injection Therapy which are reported below demonstrate that we still have another option for this sort of patient.

PATIENT' S DETAILS:
Lung cancer (biopsy confirmed) :
Male, 74 years old. Heavy smoking for more than 60 years, constant cough for months. The doctor in the hospital suspected he had TB, so prescribed anti -TB drugs for him to take for one and a half months. X-ray showed a worse condition.
Biopsy shows: not TB, but cancer : Moderately differentiated squamous cell carcinoma of bronchial epithelium.
Patient's general condition was very poor. He refused any operation, chemotherapy and/or radiation, but requested trying acupoint injection therapy instead.
According to the patient, the first month I got AIT every day. 2 weeks passed and I still coughed a lot, even some blood was coming out. I knew my lung was fighting to clean cancer out of my lung. I knew I should go on more time to treat, at least 3 months. However, after one month, I could hardly wait any longer, so I took an X-ray. Unfortunately, the X-ray showed worse. I knew that my immune system was very weak after taking anti-TB drugs so long, a lot of side effects made me very weak. I also knew since I started Acupoint injection treatment that I was getting stronger every day, even I still had cough. I could eat more and sleep much better even though the X-ray shows no improvement. After consideration for two days, I decide to go on AIT for one more month to make me much stronger. Then I could tolerate radiation or chemotherapy later if it was necessary. So I requested further AIT. Since one daily treatment in the first month was not effective enough to stop cancer, the second month I tried two treatments daily. Thanks to God and thanks to AIT, my X-ray showed almost normal after the second month. This comprised a total of 90 AIT treatments. I continued two more weeks of treatment afterwards. The further X-rays were even better than the last film, so I don't have to treat with radiation or chemo therapy so far.
Acupoint injection therapy is a very good treatment - it not only well control my cancer (as the X-ray proved), but the more important thing is it improved my whole body's general condition. It is hard to believe that my body can fight cancer without any radiation and chemo therapy. But it is absolutely the truth as it happened to me. Now I have started to change my lifestyle to maintain my health to prevent the recurrence of cancer.

CASE 2:

Female, Age: 60 years, Housewife
Sickness: tthree years ago , a bad tumor in the right breast was found without any serious pain. After the examination, the hospital doctor's diagnosis was breast cancer, stage II.
Prior Treatments: The bad tumor had been extracted with an operation in a Hospital, as suggested by the doctor. After the operation, 6 treatments of chemotherapy were applied. After each chemotherapy session, I would feel dizzy, start vomiting, lose my appetite and have no energy. After 3 years, the cancer progressed down to the lung where water was overwhelming the lung. At that point, I had to take another course of chemotherapy.
After 12 injections of chemotherapy, the I felt a bit better but also started feeling pain in the ribs and had difficult breathing, my hair dropped out a lot, no appetite, etc.

X-ray showed: right pleural effusion.

Pleural effusion biopsy confirmed : Metastatic adenocarcinoma.

I strictly followed the conventional treatment - operation, chemotherapy and radiation. Afterwards, the diagnosis was still right metastatic pleural effusion and I was scared to go further with more chemotherapy, so I decided to try acupoint injection treatment with Chinese herbs every day for one month instead. After only one week ( twice daily )of acupoint injection therapy, my breathing is much easier. Two weeks later I can eat and sleep better, my hair loss decreased. After one month treatment, I decided to continue this wonderful treatment.

After completing the course of acupoint injections I had an x-ray and blood testing. The result of the x-ray and blood testing found that the lung was showing approximately 95% normal condition, exhibiting a good blood test (CEA 7.4) result. The doctor in the hospital was surprised with the positive results.
Comment: The acupuncture and acupoint injection treatment was found satisfactory because the medicine used is liquid herbs and vitamins, which are not harmful to health. This method gives fast results because the medicine goes direct to the weak points, allowing the patient to recover soon.

Case 3.

Female, 55 years old , I got diagnosis of left breast cancer two years ago ( biopsy comfirmed ). I took some herbs all the time after that. The cancer kept growing bigger and bigger and spread out to lymph node. The situation got worse, I went to hospital to see doctor. Doctor said I got stage III of breat cancer, they could only operate to cut my left breast, but the cancer which spread lymph node is too big to operated. After operation for three weeks, the lymph mass was getting bigger , red, swollen and very painful all the time. I could not eat, could not sleep, could not move my right arm and shoulder. The doctor gave me some pills ( pain-killer, sleeping pill, antibiotics ) to take for some days, the situation was still not better at all, but worse. I could not stand the side effects of those pills, so I had to stop them. The doctor told me that my body was not ready to try chemotherapy and radiation yet, since I just got big operation. facing the big mass was getting biger and biger, the skin was almost broken. I lost my hope, no more confidence to live.

One of my sister's friend recommend me to try acupoint injection with Chinese herbs. I requested to try AIT for help. Certain Chinese herbs directly injected into acupoint points, I got much better after just 2-3 days treatment, my pain was much less, I could sleep better and started to eat. I had much more confidence to go on the AIT treatment. My arm could rise up after 6-7 days AIT. I have not had to take any pills . After one week continunously treatment, everything is much improved. No pain, my arm can rise up and move down normally, the mass is much smaller, I can sleep and eat very well, not just this, my general health is much improved too, more healthy looking, and more energy to exercise. Now I have hope and confidence to fight with cancer. I still go on the treatment and do some Qi-Gong exercise to help myself.

In effect, AIT has not only addressed my cancer mass, it has lead to an improvement in my overall health. In recalling the painful situation of my condition prior to receiving AIT, I sincerely recommend AIT to anyone who has a problem like mine. I am extremely grateful to AIT, and stand as testimony to the effectiveness of AIT.

AIT gives me more confidence to fight with cancer. Now I have more choice to fight it.

Case 4.

I am 45 years old, I felt some pain on my left breast for a couple days, I could feel there is a mass in my left breast, so I went hospital to check up, I got digital mammography both breasts, the doctor also did core biopsy immediately from my left breast mass. The result showed " Invasive duct carcinoma ", I wanted to try alternative treatment first, so I requested to try Acupoint Injection Therapy ( AIT ) with Chinese herbs and vitamins, after the treatment for one month (everyday ) I even could hardly touch the mass. So I stopped the treatment to observe, at the same time I was very careful my diet and orally took some herbs. However , the mass seems came back again several months late, so I went back to continue AIT, every other day for one and half month, then I went to check digital mammography again, the result showed above. The desity of the mass showed significantly decreased as compared with previous study. AIT did help me a lot, not just this mass, but also my overall general health. Now I still continue AIT, but less often.
